Mike Carter
President
Mike Carter, President of Select Media Services, has been with SMS from the company's inception and formal incorporation in 1997. Mike joined the The News Group(Select Media Services’ sister company)in 1991. He holds a BA from Georgia Southern University and is a member of the prestigious executive organization Vistage International, Inc. Prior to his position with Select Media Services, he earned his way up The News Group's organizational hierarchy, beginning as a Route Sales Driver, moving on to Account Executive to eventually become the Director of the Specialty Retail Division for The News Group. When the Specialty Retail Division of The News Group became Select Media Services in 1997, Mike was promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing, then Senior Vice President and General Manager, and ultimately President of the company. Mike enjoys all things outdoors and sports activities (mountain biking, road biking, hiking, camping, fishing, yard work, yoga, racing bikes). He is involved in a church plant in his neighborhood and is actively concerned about the environment.
Mike Mixon
Vice President / Merchandising
Mike Mixon, VP of Merchandising for Select Media Services, oversees the growing merchandising services branch of SMS. Mike joined SMS in October of 2008, assuming a dual role overseeing merchandising for both SMS and its sister company TNG (June 2008). Mike's goal in this position entails the total integration of field forces and bringing uniform standards of excellence and accountability to the merchandising organizations in terms of both structure and practices. With 10 years of previous experience in the periodical wholesale business as VP of Merchandising for Chas. Levy Circulating and Souce Interlink, combined with an additional 17 years in Sales, Management, Operations, Field Service and Business Development, Mike's judgement and breadth of experience navigating the merchandising side of the business are his most valuable assets. Originally from Pittsburg, MIke is a Penn State University alumni, and a sports fan and fitness fanatic.

Ted Kallgren
Director of Finance
As Director of Finance, Ted Kallgren is responsible for Select Media Services' financial strategy and day-to-day financial and accounting operations. He graduated cum laude with a BA in Accounting from Alma College in 1984 and attended Duke University's Executive Management Program in 1997. Ted began his career with Ernst & Young, LLC, obtaining his CPA certification in 1986. His career includes other Chief Financial Officer roles, most notably his 11 years of experience with Pamesco Corporation which culminated in a successful $50M initial public offering on the NYSE to fund the company's acquisition plans. Ted is active in his church, fulfilling the role as an elder, and enjoys giving back to the community by coaching youth baseball.

Scott Savarese
Senior Director of Operations
Scott Savarese is the Senior Director of Operations, IT and Distribution for Select Media Services. He has been with the company since its incorporation in 1997. He earned a BS from Penn State University, and is a member of the prestigious executive organization Vistage International, Inc. Scott was Select Media Services' first recipient of the Jim Pattison Personal Achiever Award. Scott's career with Select Media Services began as a Buyer/Distribution Coordinator. Eventually, Scott successfully took charge of the wide range of responsibilities involved in his current role, directing the company’s operations, inventory, technology, information systems, logistics, and customer service functions.

Richard Jerkins
Senior Director of Sales
Senior Director of Sales, Richard Jerkins, has been with Select Media Services since 2003. Richard holds a BA from the University of North Texas. Prior to his current position, Richard was a National Account Manager for The Home Depot and Central Divisional Merchandising Manager managing service of all accounts in central United States. Under Richard's management, the Select Media Services sales team acheived a 12.5% growth in sales during 2006. Richard designed and implemented the sales team's current structure to promote not only growth, but also teamwork, accountability and fun. He has integrated and rolled out programs for ten new customers during 2008.

Michael Rogge
Director of Human Resources
Michael Rogge has been with Select Media Services since June 2006, consistently fulfilling and expanding his reponsibilites as Human Resources Director. Michael earned a BS from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management at Keller School of Business in Atlanta, Georgia. He manages all functions of HR for Select Media Services, including recruiting and training, as well as compensation, benefits, payroll and compliance. Michael also oversees the activities and scope of the Administration department. Michael has successfully implemented several new strategies, including Total Team Involvement, Cost Savings Program, Health & Wellness and other employee benefit programs. Under his direction, training and hiring procedures have increased in scope and efficiency, resulting in improved employee productivity and retention.
